List of 2021 Nobel Prize Winners
The Nobel Prize winners for 2021 have been announced. The list of this year's Nobel laureates is as follows:
Nobel Peace Prize 2021
This year the Nobel Prize for Peace has been awarded to Maria Ressa and Dmitry Andreyevich Muratov, both of whom have been awarded for the protection of freedom of expression. Both of them are journalists.
Nobel Prize in Medicine 2021
American scientists David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian won the prestigious "2021 Nobel Prize for Medicine" (2021 Nobel Prize for Medicine). He won this award for his discoveries of receptors for temperature and touch. According to the award-giving body, these discoveries could pave the way for new pain-relieving drugs. These discoveries have helped to understand how heat, cold, and mechanical forces initiate nerve impulses that in turn allow humans to perceive and adapt to the world.
Nobel Prize 2021 for Physics
The Nobel Prize in Physics 2021 was awarded to three scientists from Japan, Germany and Italy. Syukuro Manabe and Klaus Hasselmann were awarded for their work in "physical modeling of Earth's climate, quantifying variability and reliably predicting global warming". The second part of the award was given to Giorgio Parisi for his discovery of the "interplay of disorder and fluctuations in physical systems from atomic to planetary scales".
Nobel Prize in Literature 2021
Tanzanian novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah has been awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature. Abdulrazak Gurnah has been awarded the prize for his compassionate description of the "effects of colonialism" and the fate of refugees in the gap between cultures and continents.
Nobel Prize in Economics 2021
This time three economists David Card, Joshua Angrist and Guido Imbens have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics 2021.
Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2021
This year the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Benjamin List and David MacMillan.
