full information of ip address
If you are a smartphone user then you must have heard the name of IP address at some point of time. Be it a smartphone or a computer, a separate IP address is set for each device.
IP address is an important feature of any device that acts as communication between any device. And with the help of this we can connect one device to another device. Let us know what is an IP address and why is it important?
What is IP Address?
Today, there are many elements in this world of Internet, with the help of which data is transferred from one place to another. One of these Internet elements is IP Address.
The full name of an IP address is "Internet Protocol Address" (IP Address Full Form in Hindi), it is in the form of mathematical numbers. And be it a smartphone or a computer, each device has a different IP address.
IP Address is the name of your device. It is only by this name that he is recognized in the Internet world.
Without an IP address, we cannot connect a device to a network with another device. Therefore, while searching on a topic in the browser, the router knows from the IP address where to access this data and the router collects the information and transmits the information to that IP address.
Note:- There can be two IP addresses for any computer, first for internet connection and other can be present as local area network.
Versions of IP Address
2.1 IPV4
There are two versions of IP Address. The first is the IPV4 address which was developed in 1983. IPV4 is 32 bit. The IPV4 address looks something like 172.16.254.1 which is divided into four parts and separated from the decimal point. And each range is from 0 to 255 . In which each part is of 8 bits.
Usually IPV4 appears in binary, hexadecimal, etc. form. But IPV4 can only have a limited number of IP addresses. Currently, IP4 address is available in almost all devices.
2.2 IPV6
But due to the increasing number of Internet users in the last few years, the IP6 version was developed in place of the IP4 version, in which unlimited IP addresses can be created.
IPV4 has only 32 bits, but has been increased to 128 bits in IPV6. IPV6 was launched on a large scale in which many useful technologies have been added, so that it can automatically change the entire network of a router. And currently modern desktops and servers support IPV6.
3. Types of IP Address
There are two types of IP Address.
Private IP Address
Public IP Address
3.1 Private IP Address
When more than one device like mobile, computer etc. is connected in a cable or wireless form, then it creates private IP address. In this the IP of all the connected devices is called private address.
3.2 Public IP Address
Public IP address can be of two types, first static IP address which is purchased by ISP (Internet Service Provider) to access a server. Public IP address is given by Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Which we cannot change. And this address is different. For example, a website, DNS Server etc.
On the other hand Dynamic IP Address is based on the Internet connection and it changes automatically when the computer is connected to the Internet.
4. History of IP Address
At present, two IP addresses are used in this world of the Internet. IPv4 and IPv6. The original version of IP Address was developed in 1983 by Arpanet.
IPv4 address is of 32 bits. In which 4,297,967,296 address space is limited. Private Network (18 million and one 1M = 10, 00,000) and Multicast Addressing (270 million addresses) are reserved for certain address specific tasks in IPv4.
Usually IPv4 is presented as Dot-Decimal Notation. In which there are 4 mathematical numbers, and each range is divided into points from 0-255. Each part is made up of 8 Bits (Octet).
In the early days of Internet Protocol, the network number number was up to eight. The method by which only 256 networks were allowed. But soon 1981, to solve this problem, a free and modern IPv4 network was created, which is still used today.
But due to the decrease in the available IP addresses due to increasing Internet users over time, in 1995 a new design was given using 132 in the IP address, which came to be known as Internet Protocol 6. IPv6 technology went through various testing process till the year 2000. When did commercial production start?
At present, both IPv4 and IPv6 are used in modern devices. Due to technical changes in both the IP versions, differences can be seen in the IP Address Formation.
IPv5 between IPv4 and IPv6 was based on the 1979 experiment Internet Protocol Stream. Although IPv5 was never launched.
IP addresses are divided into different classes on the basis of functions.
Class A
The range of this IP address ranges from -1.0.0 1 to 120.134.254.255. This is a huge network that consists of many devices.
Class B
The range of this IP address is from 128.1.0.1 to 191.255.255.254. And it supports medium sized networks
Class C
The range of this IP address is from 193.0.1.1 to 223.255.254.254. And it is a small network in which there are less than 256 devices.
Class D
The range of this IP address is between 229.0.0.0 to 239.2255.255.255. Which is reserved for the Multicast group.
Class E
The range of this IP address is from 240.0.0.1 to 254.255.255.254. This is the technology to be used in the future, on which research and development work is being done.
5. How to find the IP address of your computer or mobile phone?
So far we have understood the IP address. And to know why IP address is important.
Now the question comes that how can we know the IP address of our computer, laptop, smartphone?
Let us tell you step by step how you can know the IP address of any of your devices.
We are telling you two easy ways to find out the IP address.
5.1 How to find IP address by Internet search?
Step: #1
First of all, the device whose IP address you want to know. Open any one web browser on that device. Here we are finding out the IP address of our computer.
Step: #2
Now type what is my ip in the search box of the browser and press enter. By doing this the IP address of your device will come.
If you want to know the IP address of your mobile phone, then you can follow the same process for that too.
5.2 Finding IP Address by Windows Command Prompt
Step: #1
First of all click on Windows Start Button and type cmd in the search box.
Step: #2
As soon as you do this, the Command Prompt will appear in front of you. Now move the mouse arrow on the cmd icon and right-click on it and select Run as Administrator.
Step: #3
Now Windows Command Prompt will open in front of you. Now with the help of keyboard, type ipconfig in it. Keep one thing in mind here that as we have written. You also wrote am-by-am. Otherwise the result may change.
Step: #4
After typing ipconfig, press Enter. The IP address of Windows PC will appear in front of you. Which will appear in front of IPv4.
In this way you can find the IP address of any device. And can know what is the IP address of my computer or laptop? And by what name is it known?
